FemCities: Expert conference on reducing the gender pay gap
What must be done? Who will benefit? The women’s movement already called for equal pay on the 1st International Women’s Day in 1911. The right to equal pay for equal work for women and men was also one of the principles set out in the EC Treaty of 1957. Today we still have to face the fact that these demands have not been met: The gender pay gap still exists in all European countries.
This year’s FemCities conference asked “How can we close the gender pay gap?” and “Who will benefit?”. Experts from the fields of administration, business and science presented current facts and figures, scientific findings as well as European models and approaches to the relevant players. Various options administration and business have to close the gender pay gap were discussed.
