Trafficking for Forced Labour in Europe
The report was published by the organisation Anti-Slavery in 2006 and looks at various sectors and industries in which forced labour occurs. The research was carried out by NGOs and universities in the UK, Ireland, the Czech Republic and Portugal. The main topics of the research were: industries/sectors; means of coercion and force; nationality and gender; promised work versus actual work; living conditions; exit options; future plans and opportunities. The research identifies main factors affecting the exploitation of migrant workers, like the worker's poverty and his/her lack of awareness of rights, isolation and multiple dependency.
