This study provides general information on the data situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary and deals with general tendencies, compatibility of job and family, the political participation of women, a historical overview and an overview based on a recent study by the World Economic Forum which offers a comparative representation of the "gender gap".

The compilation of data was authored by Mag.a Katharina Mader
and commissioned by Mag.a Daniela Urschitz, Head of the Women's Affairs Department of the City of Vienna.
