Action Plan - Equal Opportunities between Women and Men, City of Bern

The City of Bern is the first Swiss community to implement an action plan for equal opportunities. 

The action plan comprises 46 measures within five main areas: 

1. Equal distribution of public services and resources
2. Gainful employment, family and domestic work: redistribution of paid and unpaid work
3. Adolescents: promotion of equal opportunities with regard to education, occupational and personal choices.
4. Violence: prevention and reduction of gender-specific forms of discrimination and violence
5. Equal opportunities as a cross-cutting responsibility in all areas of the city administration

The City of Bern promotes equal opportunities between women and men in its role as employer, service provider and contractee.
