Exchange of Best Practices in Belgrade

The Commission for Gender Equality of the City of Belgrade joined the FemCities network in summer 2011. In March 2012 the Commission and the Belgrade City Administration organised a conference on the “Development of Local Mechanisms for Gender Equality in the City of Belgrade” and invited representatives of the City of Vienna to share their experiences and best practices. At the conference, Ursula Bauer, Head of Section Gender Mainstreaming of the City of Vienna, and Martina K. Sommer, FemCities Coordinator and Officer at the Vienna Women’s Department, held presentations on successful Gender Mainstreaming initiatives in the City of Vienna, as well as on the development and main activities of the City of Vienna Women’s Department.
